From May 9 to May 14, 2022, the Delegation of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education (HCMUE) by Prof. Dr. Huynh Van Son, the President of HCMUE, led the delegation to visit and work with two partner training institutions in the Kingdom of Belgium: Odisee University and KU Leuven University. Accompanying the group was MS. Nguyen Ngoc Trung – the Vice President and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Nguyen Thanh Vinh - Acting Head of International Cooperation Office.
In Belgium, the President and the Delegation of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education were warmly and thoughtfully welcomed by the school's leaders and the leaders of the faculties of Odisee University and KU Leuven University. The two sides introduced the country's education system, organizational structure, and development orientation of the three universities. All three schools discussed and determined the future cooperation direction between Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, Odisee University and KU Leuven University. Some directions for cooperation in the coming period:
- Continuing to promote student exchange activities, focusing on transferring credits for students after the exchange process
- Developing academic staff exchange activities, focusing on bringing young academic staff from Ho Chi Minh City University of Education to work in the professional environment of Odisee University
- Developing information sources for postgraduate scholarships at KU Leuven University;
- Developing international training association certificate
- Developing research cooperation relations
- Supporting in fostering and training, particularly distant postgraduate programs.
- Supporting and learning from each other's experiences in developing laboratories, libraries, and operating branches
- Promoting cooperation with Belgian partners to register many research and human resource development projects sponsored by KU Leuven University.
KU Leuven University agreed to provide research and human resource development funds to Ho Chi Minh City University of Education so that the two sides can exchange high-quality human resources and cooperate in research.
The delegation from Ho Chi Minh City University also visited many typical preschools, primary schools, and secondary schools in Brussels and Sint Niklaas to learn about the method of operation of preschool and high school education in the Kingdom of Belgium. The Delegation also knew more about academic staff exchange experiences, and technical training and visited the infrastructure and laboratory systems at the Sint Niklaas and Aalst campuses.
